JERSEYVILLE — It was four years ago Thursday that the family of an 8-year-old boy who died of cancer started a foundation in his honor. Since then, the foundation — which has opened its first office in Jerseyville — has grown and now raises money for pediatric cancer research across the country. The Kids Shouldn’t Have Cancer Foundation was started in honor of Jonny Wade, who died of brain cancer but left behind a message that no child should have to go through what he and other cancer patients endured. “Jonny always said ‘I don’t want another kid to have cancer’,” said Jonny’s mother, Kimberly Wade, founder and CEO of the foundation.
